Thru entreprenuership training, thru innovative technology development, job skills training, services to people in need and the development and implimentation of strategies to revitalize challenged communities.
S.E.E.D...The Social Economic Empowerment Development of the Churches of God in Christ Inc.
To empower people to be economically self-sufficient through the development and implamentation of strategies to revitalize the community and to wrestle with the social problems in the mist of much social change and social reaction, urban renewal and the room of the redevelopment in order to maintain the ecumenical Christian movement specifically Church of God in Christ relevancy to the society in which we live. By providing services to our people serving people both naturally and spiritually is the role of the church (St. Matthew 25:43 to 46)
History
In 1994, we proposed to develope a department and prototype to be used by the Church of God in Christ to empower the people in the church and community to become economically self-sufficienct. Chetwyn Rodgers Drive Development Center was founded and started in the basement of the church. Since its founding, the plan for urban renewal was presented by Dr.Curtis Rodgers to the community and to the Church of God in Christ.
The Curtis Rodgers plan for urban renewal included the development of a prototype community organization developed from the church that would primarily be used to revitalize any challenged community in America. It is not a phenomenon but the norm and a fact that the church has been, is today and will be in the future a catalyst and developing entity for social and individual empowerment both private and commercial for the total community. It must be said that the power of the church and the participation of the church has not been emphasized or promulgated and given its proper credit nor it's due place at the table of social architecture and engineering for a comunity.
The church and it's leasdership has been ignored the respect of it's great contributions and relevancy for all areas of humanity for Mankind. This faith-based plan is also designed to bringing all areas of the community together for the common good as the church concentrates through its activity and development of the social economic empowerment department development's for the natural needs of each individual and for the spiritual needs of each individual through the church and its leadership. The results have been economic empowerment, community development, the removal of community blight as well as the social spiritual salvation of the community and its people. This demonstrates that the church and its members are a vital part of the community and should be recognized, embraced, celebrated and utilized in order to bring true social change and community revitalization.
The name given to the Curtis Rodgers plan for urban renewal was called as EE D. meaning the social econmic empowerment department of the Church of God in Christ now known as the CRDDC (Chetwyn Rodgers Drive Development Center) COGIC S.E.E.D. The seed project direction now also includes ecumenical participation and impementation. The S.E.E.D. was approved by the General Board of the Church of God in Christ in 1994 and has been able to grow from the basement of the Chetwyn Rodgers faith Memorial Church of God in Christ into separate 501 (c)3 organization called Chetwyn Rodgers Development Center a $2 million facility located now at 19 to 33 North Cicero Avenue in Chicago, Il.
Pastor Curtis Rodgers and the Chetwyn Rodgers Drive Development committee has begun to plan its second phase of development. Phase 2 includes the development of a facility for senior affordable living in commercial retail space for new residentially owned and operated new businesses to be housed within the new complex. Phase 2 also includes the development od the Madison Street Cicero Avenue and Chetwyn Rodgers Drive revitalized shopping area also was predominantly new residentially owned and operated small busineses and anchor tenants. Phase 2 calls for the utilization of the new Mid Austin Chamber of Commerce. We look forward o God's guidance and your support of this humanitarian effort.

Nice blog but the color of the text is hard on my eyes. Is there anyway you can change the color of the text so that an old man, like me, will not be straining his eyes? (great work, still)
